Youth QRTP Residential Program

A Qualified Residential Treatment Program for young people whose needs cannot currently be met in a family setting — with a written plan, from day one, for getting them back to one.

Structure without institutionalisation

Our QRTP is a licensed residential setting for up to sixteen young people, staffed by youth specialists, licensed therapists and registered nurses around the clock. It is a house with rules and clinical care — not a facility.

Every resident has an individual treatment plan reviewed every thirty days with their family, caseworker and treatment team present. The plan names the discharge setting we are aiming for and the specific goals that will get them there.

What QRTP certification means

Under the Family First Prevention Services Act, a QRTP must use a trauma-informed treatment model, provide nursing and clinical staff availability, involve family in treatment, and document aftercare for at least six months post-discharge. We meet all four and are independently assessed against them.

Predictable rhythm, individual care

Routine is treatment. Young people arriving from disrupted placements need to know what happens next.

7:00 – 8:30am

Morning & medication

Wake, hygiene, breakfast together, nurse-administered medication and a short check-in on how the night went.

8:30am – 3:00pm

Education

On-site academic programming coordinated with the home district, or transport to local school where enrolment continues.

3:00 – 6:00pm

Clinical & activity

Individual therapy, skills groups, recreation, chores and scheduled family calls or
visits.

6:00 – 9:30pm

Evening & wind-down

Dinner as a house, homework support, community meeting, quiet time and a nightly one-to-one with staff.

Who the program serves

When we are not the right placement

We will tell you within one business day if we cannot safely serve a young person. That includes active medical instability requiring hospital-level care, acute detoxification needs, or a documented pattern of violence that our staffing model cannot manage safely. We would rather refer you elsewhere than accept a placement that fails in three weeks.
